A native of Montreal, Tracy began her piano studies at the age of six and went on to earn her bachelor of music in piano performance with distinction from McGill University. She has been teaching piano for over twenty years to students of all ages and levels in Montreal, Vancouver, Squamish and now Penticton. Several of her students have won gold medals in the Howe Sound Music Festival and have gone on to provincial competitions. Tracy joined the faculty at the Penticton Academy of Music in 2009.
As well as teaching, Tracy is active as a piano accompanist in the South Okanagan accompanying singers and instrumentalists at festivals, exams and recitals throughout the valley.
Although piano is her first love she maintains an active singing and conducting career as well. She is the director of Musaic Vocal Ensemble, a chamber choir based in Summerland. She has sung with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Chorus and the Gallery Singers of Vancouver, both as a choir member and soloist. She was director of the boys’ chorus and prep choir for the Vancouver Children’s Choir, founded and directed the St.John’s Children’s Chorus and was music director for five years at St.John’s Anglican church in Squamish. Tracy also worked for two summers as a music director for Ailanthus Performing Arts Centre in their 8 week intensive program for inner city youth in Vancouver.
Tracy is the artistic director for the Penticton Academy of Music and directs the Penticton Youth Choir along with her colleague, Linnea Good.
