Zac Goerlitz

Zac "Zedgie" Goerlitz, an ongoing university student since 2011, has a devotion for education and growth. Zac has work experience in Business, Bookkeeping, Music Technology, Teaching, Construction, Landscaping, Painting, I.T., Retail, Banking, and Real Estate. Zac holds a Master of Music Technology and Digital Media Distribution degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree, Music Diploma, and Conducting Certificate from Capilano University (North Vancouver), and Music general studies at Trinity Western University (Langley), general studies at Okanagan College (Penticton), and is currently completing a Bachelor of Education degree at UBC Okanagan. He is also a certified Level 1 Google educator.

 

His performance experience is in choir, orchestra, community opera, theatre, musical theatre, children's choir, children's theatre, music videos and film/video-game scoring. He has written music for three video games, several student documentary films, and multiple live theatre scenes. He performed in Eric Whitaker's Virtual Choir 5, Christmas at the Chan with the VSO, Faure's Requiem with the Toronto Korean Choir, performed on 100 Huntley with the Anglican Choir, to name a few of far too many to mention, and has produced albums and demo recordings for multiple artists throughout Vancouver and Toronto. Now back to Penticton to enjoy family, friends and his favourite city in Canada, Zac enjoys the developing music scene in the south Okanagan. It's not about perfection, but about the process.

 

Zac is currently learning several new instruments and can always relate to the challenges and joys of learning an instrument at whatever age. Zac looks forward to great musical collaborations and working with many great students of any background, skill-level and age in the areas of piano, voice, guitar, theory, history, conducting and digital recording.
