Position: Violin Teacher (Beginner to Intermediate)

We are hiring!

Job Title: Violin Teacher

Job Type: Part-time, Contractual

Pay range: $58 - $66/hour depending on years of teaching experience.

This position will start in September 2025 or earlier, depending on availability.

PAMDA is not just a music school; we are a mission-driven non-profit charitable organization intent on providing high-quality music education to anyone in our community who wants it. We accomplish this through our bursary and scholarship program, our instrument loan program, our committed board of directors, and our amazing faculty. We believe that access to music education is a birthright and we have been providing access to the life-changing benefits of music to thousands in our community since 1994.

We are looking for an experienced violin teacher to join our team of educators. 

​

As a private lesson instructor, you will be responsible for teaching beginner to intermediate level violin to students aged 5 to adult. Your main objective is to help students develop their musical abilities and their love for music through personalized one-on-one instruction.

​​

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct private violin lessons for beginner to intermediate students aged 5 to adult

  • Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and goals

  • Provide feedback and constructive criticism to students to help them improve their playing skills

  • Help students prepare for RCM exams, Kiwanis Festival, auditions, and performances

  • Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment for students

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to update them on student progress

  • Attend periodic faculty meetings

  • Encourage students to participate in PAMDA studio recitals and concerts

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in violin or music from a recognized university or college or a Grade 9 RCM certification or higher

  • Strong violin playing skills and knowledge of various musical genres

  • Knowledge of RCM books and exams

  • Previous experience teaching violin to students of different ages and skill levels

  • Ability to develop and implement personalized lesson plans

  • Patient and enthusiastic

  • Self-motivated, with good organization skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Passion for music and teaching

This is a part-time in-person position at the beautiful Leir House, with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. If you are passionate about music and teaching, and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
