Kirby Barber

Kirby Barber has been teaching Guitar, Bass, Songwriting, and children’s group music classes for the past 15 years. A graduate of the music program at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta, Kirby teaches a variety of styles including Pop, Rock, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, and Country and enjoys creating lessons that are fun, diverse, and well suited to fit each student’s musical goals.

As well as teaching, Kirby spent many years being a part of the Edmonton and Vancouver music scenes and for the past two years has been living in Nashville.

Kirby has also worked as a touring musician for many years backing up artists on Guitar, Bass, and Vocals. She has toured extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia with various artists from Canada and the USA. Some of the BC artists she currently performs with include Aaron Pritchett, Shari Ulrich, Barney Bentall and The High Bar Gang.

Kirby has received multiple awards at the BC Country Music Awards, as well has been nominated several times at the Canadian Country Music Awards.

Kirby enjoys recording on various artist’s albums, as well as writing and recording her own music. She thoroughly enjoys helping students with the creative process of writing and recording. Kirby looks forward to meeting new students of all ages and ability levels and being a part of their exciting musical journey!
