Monthly Bluegrass Circle Jams at Leir House starting September 22, 2024

We're thrilled to announce that the Summerland Bluegrass Society is now holding monthly Bluegrass Circle Jams at PAMDA.

If you play the guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, dobro or upright bass and would like to improve your skills on your instrument, then join The Bluegrass Circle Jam in the Community Room at Leir House on Sunday, September 22 from 2-4pm. Admission is just $5.

What's a Bluegrass Circle Jam? It's a fun and welcoming way for beginning or shy bluegrass pickers and singers to come out in a relaxed and safe environment to improve their playing and singing and to learn to play with others.  It's also a great opportunity for those who are more experienced to show off their skills and inspire others.

These jams aim to keep to traditional bluegrass acoustic instruments (guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, dobro, upright bass).

While a songbook isn't encouraged or required at a bluegrass jam, it comes in handy for those who are new to bluegrass or for those looking for a new song to sing. The Summerland Bluegrass Society has put together a book of 85 bluegrass songs and 75 bluegrass tunes, which is available for purchase at the jams for $20 or you can access the digital copy for free by clicking here.
