Thank You, Yard Katz & The Hub on Martin

At the end of September, the Yard Katz held their monthly jam that did far more than just bring people together—it made a significant impact on musicians in our community.

The September "Hub is a-Rockin' band jam" was held in memory of bandmate Dennis Chaykowski, a local musician and passionate advocate for youth musicians, who passed away in the summer. In honour of his legacy, the band donated all the door proceeds from the event—an impressive $530—along with an additional $115 in contributions collected throughout the evening. We were deeply moved when the venue generously topped up the gift by $500, bringing the total donated to our student bursary fund to $1,145.

This act of kindness will help ensure that more young people—regardless of their circumstances—can access life-changing music education.
