The WestJet Gift of Flight Raffle: Part 2

Last year, the Okanagan Treasure Hunters' Club contacted us with an incredibly generous offer. They

wanted to donate to PAMDA the net proceeds raised in the WestJet Gift of Flight Raffle. We were thrilled and so grateful.

It was easy to sell tickets for this raffle: The chance to win a return trip for two anywhere that WestJet flies? For $10? Heck ya!

We sold more than 600 tickets and on a sunny Saturday in September, at the Okanagan Treasurer Hunters' Club rally at Sudbury Beach, Club PAMDA Chair Nancy Wyse and JoAnne Birch of the OTHC drew the winning ticket, #519, in the name of Kathryn McCourt.

Kathryn happily accepted her winning voucher and started making her travel plans.

However, at the end of January, Kathryn contacted us with the sad news that she would not be able to use the voucher before the deadline of September 2023 and offered to return the prize so that someone else might win.

So on Monday, February 13, we held another draw, with PAMDA guitar instructor Kirby Barber pulling out winning ticket #226, in the name of Roxanne Judson.

Roxanne was stunned and elated! She says, "Thanks for your fortuitous name drawing abilities. I’ve never minded playing second fiddle."
