Norma Jean Read

Norma Jean completed her Masters of Education specializing in Fine Arts Education through Simon Fraser University and went on to teach elementary school in small Indigenous communities in the Yukon, before moving to Penticton in the late 90s. Here, she continued her teaching career as an elementary teacher and librarian.

 

Now retired, Norma Jean is an active downhill and cross country skier and has been a member of the Apex ski patrol for several years. She also enjoys gardening, koi pond care, beekeeping, interior design, wine tasting, and travel.

 

Norma Jean joined the Board of Directors in 2022 and is very active in the PAMDA outreach programs.
